SPRAY TAN PREPARATIONS & CARE

Aftercare Tips for a Long-Lasting Glow

Hands Off the Water
Stay dry for the first 1–3 hours post-tan. That means no sweating, showers, swimming, or skincare treatments during this time. Let your glow develop without interruption!

Set Time Complete! Time to Rinse
For your first shower, rinse gently with lukewarm water—no soaps, scrubs, or harsh cleansers. It’s normal to see some bronzer wash away; your tan will continue to deepen over the next day.

24 Hours After
You may now shower as normal. However, avoid bodywash products with alcohol.

Hydration is Key
Apply a moisturizing, alcohol-free lotion daily to extend the life of your tan. Avoid products with mineral oil, alcohol, or strong fragrances.

Glow Bar Prep Guide – Get the Best From Your Spray Tan

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
Cleanse, Exfoliate, and Shave
To help your tan apply smoothly and evenly, start with a clean slate. Use oil-free products when you shower, exfoliate your skin thoroughly, and shave at least 24 hours before your appointment. This helps ensure the tanning solution adheres properly and minimizes the chance of uneven color.

Pro Tip: Pay extra attention to dry areas like your knees, elbows, and ankles—these spots tend to absorb more product and can turn darker if not exfoliated well.

No Moisturizers or Oils
Avoid applying lotions, oils, or serums after your shower. These can create a barrier on your skin and interfere with how the tan develops.

Pause on Active Skincare
Hold off on using retinoids, acne treatments, or exfoliating acids (like AHAs/BHAs) a few days before your session. These products can cause patchy fading or prevent the tan from fully taking.

DAY OF YOUR TAN
Fresh-Faced, Clean Skin Only
Come to your appointment with no makeup, deodorant, perfume, or lotions on your skin. This helps the tan apply evenly and stay flawless.

Dress for the Glow
Wear dark, loose-fitting clothing and skip tight bras, leggings, or socks to avoid any rubbing or smudging while your tan sets.
